Returns Management and Reverse Logistics

Returns processing for ecommerce brands: inspection, grading, photo documentation, restocking, refurbishment and disposal with full reporting from a California 3PL.

Returns are inevitable; losing money twice on them is not. Fulfillment EZ inspects, grades and photographs every return, restocks sellable units the same day, and reports return reasons back to you so product and merchandising decisions are driven by evidence rather than anecdote.

  • Same-day inspection and grading on receipt
  • Photo documentation on every returned unit
  • Automatic restock of sellable inventory
  • Return-reason reporting by SKU, variant and channel

What happens when a return arrives

Returns are scanned against the original order, inspected against your grading criteria, and photographed. Sellable units are restocked immediately so they are available to sell again the same day. Damaged or opened units are routed to refurbishment, liquidation or disposal per your standing instructions.

Because the return is linked to the original order, you see which customer, which lot and which fulfillment date it came from — which is how a packaging defect gets caught after five returns instead of five hundred.

  • Scan-linked to the original order and lot
  • Grading against criteria you define per category
  • Same-day restock of sellable units
  • Refurbish, liquidate or dispose routing rules

Turning return reasons into product decisions

Every return is coded with a reason: wrong size, damaged in transit, not as described, changed mind, defective. Aggregated by SKU and variant, the pattern is usually obvious and usually fixable.

A size chart correction, a photograph that shows true color, or a stronger inner pack can each remove a recurring percentage of returns permanently — which is worth far more than shaving cents off the processing fee.

Returns as a retention lever

Fast return processing means faster refunds and exchanges, and customers who get a painless resolution buy again at meaningfully higher rates than those who never had a problem at all.

Exchange orders can be released before the returned unit is physically inspected for trusted customer segments, closing the loop in days rather than weeks.
